ECLUSE officially opened
ECLUSE, the steam network in the port of Antwerp, was officially commissioned by two Flemish ministers on Friday 15 March.
ECLUSE supplies six chemical companies with steam generated during the incineration of waste by the Indaver processing company. A.Hak and Petrogas (together AHP) were responsible for the construction of the network.
The ECLUSE steam network makes an important contribution to achieving the Flemish climate objectives. An annual reduction of 100,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions is achieved because the six chemical companies no longer need to produce their own steam in their steam boilers. In addition, the project supplies at least 5 percent of all green heat produced in Flanders. In this way, ECLUSE is making an important contribution to the realization of the Flemish climate objectives.
