A.Hak used the soil displacement technique to install 2.4 km of 25 kV cable for connecting five wind turbines as part of Spui Wind Farm. Installation with this ploughing technique is faster and causes less disruption to the environment.

The soil displacement technique, also known as the ploughing technique, has a number of advantages. Firstly, it is much faster than installation by means of open excavation. Secondly, the environment benefits from the application of this innovative technique, because the soil is hardly disturbed. Furthermore, it is not necessary to lower the groundwater level.

The work was carried out almost a year ago. On the photo at the top of the page, there is almost nothing left to see. Proof of the fact that the soil displacement technique causes little disturbance to the subsoil.
