ECLUSE Officially Opened

Antwerp Port Power Grid Officially Opened

ECLUSE, the steam network in the port of Antwerp, was officially put into operation on Friday, March 15 by two Flemish ministers.

ECLUSE supplies steam to six chemical companies, generated by the incineration of waste by processing company Indaver. A.Hak and Petrogas (together AHP) were responsible for the construction of the network.

The ECLUSE steam network makes an important contribution to achieving the Flemish climate objectives. On an annual basis, a reduction of 100,000 tons of CO 2emissions is achieved because the six chemical companies no longer have to produce steam in their steam boilers. In addition, the project provides at least 5 percent of all green heat produced in Flanders. This means that ECLUSE makes an important contribution to achieving the Flemish climate objectives.
