A.Hak signs a four-year framework agreement with DPO
For the client Defense Pipeline Organization (DPO), A.Hak will be one of the three contracted parties to carry out work over the next four years. The framework agreement was signed on Wednesday, March 13.
The work will include excavating, inspecting, and repairing detected defects, carrying out relocations, repairing shallow placements, and related tasks on the pipeline.
The Defense Pipeline Organization (DPO) manages and oversees the transport of aviation fuels to military and civilian airports via its own underground pipeline network.
The electricity grid is being expanded on the southwest side of Anna Paulowna. Liander is doing this by removing the existing medium-voltage grid, installing 9 kilometers of new ring connections (medium voltage), placing two new electricity facilities, and converting one existing facility. The majority of the work takes place in the municipality of Hollands Kroon. A small portion in the municipality of Schagen has already been completed.
Breaking ground
The grid expansion officially started on Wednesday, May 15 at the Boermansweg project in Anna-Paulowna (municipality of Hollands Kroon). Hans Heddes (alderman of Schagen municipality), Willeke van Dam (director of Large Work Packages at Liander), and Richard van Beers (director of contractor A.Hak) jointly broke the symbolic first ground.
According to alderman Lilian Peters of Hollands Kroon municipality, this work represents an important step toward making her municipality more sustainable, and the installation of 2,000 kilometers of electricity cables contributes to solving bottlenecks in the electricity grid. Peters therefore considers the collaboration with Liander and Schagen municipality to be of great importance.
Alderman Hans Heddes of Schagen municipality agrees: “We face a major challenge in solving the housing shortage. At the same time, society must become more sustainable. Future-proof homes that generate their own electricity and heat sustainably – the power grid must be designed for that. The Helix Program is a great example of municipalities and grid operators working together.”
Willeke van Dam: “Until now, working with A.Hak on this project was all ‘desk work.’ But this is the moment we’re all doing it for. Ensuring that the cables and stations are actually installed to strengthen the energy grid.” Richard van Beers adds to Van Dam’s statement: “A.Hak focuses on long-term collaboration, which we see as crucial to enabling the energy transition. We are therefore proud to be part of the Liander framework contract Helix.”
