Innovative and Sustainable
District Heating Networks
The Foundation for Sustainable Cities
District heating networks are crucial for energy transition solutions. Since the late 1970s, A.Hak has been a specialist in the installation of district heating networks and heat infrastructure. We deliver complete systems, from main pipelines to house connections, and support our clients in design, execution, and maintenance.
With our experience in large-scale heat projects, we contribute to the sustainability of cities, neighborhoods, and industries. With our knowledge and expertise, we help build reliable heating systems that significantly reduce CO₂ emissions and make the Netherlands future-proof.

Featured Project: WarmtelinQ South Holland
An example of district heating is the large-scale WarmtelinQ project in South Holland. Commissioned by Gasunie, we are working on the installation of an underground heat pipeline. The heat pipeline transports residual heat from the industry in the Port of Rotterdam to households and businesses in cities like Vlaardingen, Delft, Rijswijk, and The Hague. This pipeline can provide sustainable heat to 120,000 homes and businesses, directly contributing to the reduction of CO₂ emissions and the decrease in natural gas usage.
A.Hak employs full in-house expertise: from welding and insulation to advanced drilling techniques such as double HD drilling of 1,000 meters and closed front drilling. The project is technically challenging due to the variation in urban and rural areas and requires precise environmental management with minimal disruption and maximum transparency during execution.
