A.Hak wins Tytan Award 2017

8 June 2017

A.Hak Leidingbouw won the Tytan Award 2017 with the rehabilitation of a production water pipeline by means of a trenchless pipe-in-pipe method for client Nederlandse Aardolie Maatschappij BV (NAM). An HDPE-pipe with steel reinforcements was inserted into the existing steel pipe. After winning the ISTT No-Dig Award earlier, this was the second time this project received international acclaim.

Although the pipe-in-pipe method isn't necessarily revolutionary, this project was highly complex. The existing steel pipeline had a total length of 45 kilometers and a very challenging curve. A.Hak Leidingbouw constructed an elaborate test environment to deliver proof of concept. The expertise of A.Hak sister companies and its Equipment Department was used to select and modify the equipment needed to get the job done safely, according to specifications and within planning.

In October 2016 A.Hak won the ISTT No-Dig Award for the same project.
